Our History
A Brief History of ASHA Charitable Trust
ASHA Charitable Trust (Action Sought for Holistic Advancement) was established in 2004 as a compassionate response to the urgent educational needs of underprivileged and marginalized children in and around Bangalore.
The Trust was founded under the leadership of Archbishop Bernard Moras and continues to receive support and encouragement under the guidance of Archbishop Peter Machado. Since its inception, ASHA has remained committed to education as a powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty and promote equal opportunity.
Focusing on more than just access to schooling, ASHA Charitable Trust emphasizes the holistic development of each child—nurturing their academic, emotional, and personal growth. With the generous support of donors, sponsors, and well-wishers, the Trust has steadily expanded its outreach across several districts including Tumkur, Kolar, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, Bangalore Rural, and Bangalore Urban.
Through scholarships, educational partnerships, and community-based support programs, ASHA Charitable Trust serves hundreds of underprivileged children each year. The Trust remains a symbol of hope and empowerment, helping young minds rise above their circumstances with confidence, dignity, and opportunity.
